Historic Photos from Karyes (Arahova)


The photo gallery below comes from the volume "Karyatika" (1), 1950. They reflect views from the settlement of Karyes (Arachova) with its neighborhoods (mahalades), the everyday life of its inhabitants, the destruction left by the German occupiers during the 2nd World War, as well as from the reconstruction projects that followed in the village. Soon, more photos will be added in the gallery and our aim is to continuously enrich it.

Their quality is not particularly great, as the photos are small and the printing of the issue contribute to their bleariness. However, following their digital processing, they can show enough information of the life in Karyes during the first half of the 20th century
