Since 1926, after the foundation of the sports club "O KARYATIS" from young Karyates studying in high school, efforts have been made to find a place to practice. At the instigation of the late benefactor G. T. Skiouris a fundraising took place, in 1929, and with the gathered amount a small field, owned by Panagiotis Papadogiannis, was purchased at Pinigoura and rearranged as a gymnasium. In 1951, under the S.C. "Karyatis" presidency of Paraskevas G. Koutsogeorgas, membership of Konstantinos Mich. Pitsios, along with payment ($ 518) of the Brotherhood in America and of company LEVENTIS, they purchased part of a neighboring area, owned by Michael Melehes in order to complete the relevant area of the pitch.

Subsequently, it was decided to build locker/changing rooms. In 1958, with the expense of G. T. Skiouris, the first locker/changing rooms of the club were built, and in 1981, with the donation of D.T. Kakkaris, their expansion was constructed and now there are availiable locker/changing rooms for both teams.

Basket - Volley - Tennis Court

In 1995, the open court for the sports of Basketball, volleyball and tennis with modern specifications was built. It was completed with the contribution of the Sports Club "O Karyatis", the annually contribution from G. T. Skouris Foundation, the financial donation by the children of Efstratios Kostas, but also by joining a European Program. The stadium has stands that can accommodate about 200 spectators.

Completing The Sports Center

Over the last decade, the Sports Club "KARYATIS" in cooperation with the Skouris Foundation and sponsorships of compatriots, designed the maintenance and completion of the Sports Center. Thus, in 2013, the existing locker room was renovated with money (€ 10,000) provided by OPAP, after the actions of our compatriot Nicholas G. Trakas and in 2018 the electrification of the changing rooms, the basketball court and the football stadium in front of the stands with the headlight installation.

The Karyes Sports Center is now able to offer modern sports conditions to residents and visitors of Karyes.
